Fat Henry’s was opened on 1st July 2015 by the Combrinck family. Originally situated at The Caledon Mall it soon became a favourite of locals & visitors alike. Unfortunately (as with many independent restaurants) Covid hit them very hard, and they had to move from The Mall to the current location in the main street. Caledon is a small town in a farming district, so the local economy has been greatly affected by Covid, load shedding & weather-related disasters in the last couple of years and this has had an effect on the businesses and economy in the area, with several restaurants & take aways closing due to reduced disposable incomes amongst the local population. As a visitor to the area rather support one of the small, independent restaurants or coffee shops rather than the large franchises.
